Orewa College SPORT and Auckland Schools Mountain Biking

Information

The school mountain biking is parent lead and students enter each race individually. These events are usually held at Woodhill Forest, Riverhead which is only half an hour or so from Orewa. All the school's races cater to every rider level and this course has track and a bit of gravel road. Initially for the kids starting out it’s all about having fun, making new friends and just having a go. Students need to have their own bikes and make their own way / transport to the races. They should have some previous mountain biking experience.

Entries are online directly with Auckland Mountain Biking club, but the Orewa College Sports Department needs to keep a record of our students and what events they are entering and ensure you have signed a school "Parent Lead" permission slip and that you have an Orewa College race shirt.

Uniform

We provide a shirt for each student. Students must have appropriate helmet, black lycra shorts and a well maintained, serviced bike to race.

Transport

Students are to make their own way to and from these events.

Communications

These can be via Daily Student Notices or on the School App.

If you would like to assist with transport/coaching/managing you will need to be Police Vetted by Orewa College.
